2 lbs. coarse ground beef
2 cans (1 large and 1 medium) whole peeled tomatoes
1 chili bar
1 large chopped onion
3 cans (medium size) red beans or kidney beans
1/2 of a fresh green pepper

Directions:
Directions:

Brown beef and drain off grease. Dice tomatoes, add to beef, include the juice. Add diced onion and chili bar all in a pot.

Seasoning: Start with a t. of salt too much salt will make the chili bitter and if you are short on salt you can add it later. Add 1 T. chili powder, 1 t. sugar a pinch of pepper, 1/2 chopped green pepper and 1/4 t. cumin.

Cover and simmer until the meat is tender (about 1 hour) Then add beans, juice and all and simmer another 20 minutes. Test the chii for flavor - it may need more salt or chili powder. If ou like garlic, and a couple pinches of garlic powder.
