2 Large yellow onions cut in half and then thinly sliced
4 Tabelspoons butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon hot sauce
1 Teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 Teaspoon black pepper
6 oz. Cream cheese at room temperature
1 Cup Sour Cream
4 Tablespoons mayonnaise

Directions:
Directions:
Place butter and oil in a medium-size skillet and heat until melted. Add the onions, hot sauce, salt and pepper; saute for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat and continue cooking, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes, until the onions are browned and caramelized. Remove from heat and cool. Place cream cheese in electric mixer bowl and beat until smooth. Add sour cream and continue mixing. Fold in the caramelized onions. Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately with chips, crackers, vegetables or potatoes. Refrigerate overnight for a bolder flavor.
