Banana Nut Bread Recipe

⅓ C shortening
½ C sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1 ⅓ C sifted all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 C mashed ripe banana
½ C chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts.
Pour into well-greased 9½x5x3 in pan. Bake in moderate oven (350º) for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
