1/2 c. + 2 T. warm water
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 T. sugar
1 egg
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. shortening
Directions:
Directions:
Combine water and yeast stirring until dissolved. Add sugar slightly cooled melted shortening and beaten egg. Add remaining flour and continue beating until smooth for about 5 minutes.

Spoon into greased muffin pans filling each almost half full.

Let rise in warm place until batter reaches top of muffin cups

Bake 18-20 minutes in a moderate hot 375º oven or until golden brown.
