4 heaping cups of chopped, cooked ham
1 large white onion, chopped
2 large bell peppers, chopped
3 cups of chopped celery
1 large can of chopped plum tomatoes
1 package of frozen corn kernels
6 medium yellow squash (my mother referred to it as "summer squash."
1 or 2 dried chilis
¾ teaspoon dried cumin

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion, pepper, and celery with ham until tender, not brown.

Add tomatoes, corn, cumin, and chilis to taste.

Cube squash in 1½ inch pieces and steam or boil until slightly tender; drain.

Combine with other ingredients.

Serve hot over cornbread or corn dodgers.
