3 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
¼ cup butter
2 TBSP yeast
4 eggs
2 TBSP salt
¾ cup sugar
8 to 9 cups flour

Custard

8 eggs
5 cups sour cream
2 ½ cups sugar
½ tsp. vanilla
Cinnamon/nutmeg
Fruit or dry cottage cheese (apples, plums)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk, sour cream and butter until warm. Sprinkle with yeast and let stand 5 minutes. Add salt, eggs, sugar and flour to make a soft dough. Let rise 1 hour. Divide and spread into greased pie pans leaving an edge. Let rise 45 minutes.
Mix the eggs, sour cream, sugar and vanilla to make the custard. Put a single layer of fruit or dry cottage cheese on unbaked crust. Cover with custard. Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon.
Bake at 350º F. for 30 ­to 45 minutes until the fruit is cooked and the crust is golden brown. Tobi can remember eating Kuchen at his Grandma Krein's. He always chose apple.
