1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cloves
1 egg
1/4 c. apple cider
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 apples (peeled, cored and shredded)
Glaze :
1 tbsp butter melted
1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp apple cider

Directions:

Preheat oven 400º

In a medium-size bowl cream butter and brown sugar. Stir in cinnamon, allspice, cloves and egg. Stir in cider. Combine flours, baking soda and salt and add to creamed mixture. Add apples and mix until well blended.

Drop by the teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 -12 minutes. While cookies cool, make glaze.

Glaze: combine melted butter with confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and cider.
