2 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. frozen butter
1/2 c. sour cream
1 large egg

Pre-heat oven to 400º
In a medium bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Grate butter into flour mixture using the large holes of a box grater. Use your fingers to work butter in until it's a crumbly texture.
In a small bowl whisk sour cream and egg until smooth. Use a fork and stir the cream mixture into the flour mixture until large dough clumps form. Use your hands to mix well.
Place on lightly floured surface and roll into a circle around 3/4 inch thick. Use a flour covered round cookie cutter around 4.5 cm. and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. They may touch one another.
Bake 10- 12 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Wrap in a clean tea towel to keep warm.
Serve with clotted cream.
May prepare dough ahead of time.
