1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 stalk celery, diced
2 Tablespoons oil
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon basil
2 cups diced winter root vegetables (rutabagas, potatoes, parsnips, carrots)
Handful of raw WW noodles
1/2 cup cooked beans of any kind
1 quart stock or water
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons molasses
3 Tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup water
Pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion, garlic and celery in oil until soft. Add bay leaf, basil, veggies, noodles, beans and stock. Bring to boil. Combine soy sauce, molasses and tomato paste with 1 cup water. Add to soup with pepper and simmer covered for 30 minutes. Stir in lemon juice and adjust seasonings. Makes 2 quarts. Serves 8.
