4 cups of flour, plus more for kneading
1 tablespoon of salt
teaspoon baking soda
teaspoon baking powder
1 to 2 cups of Buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Butter an 8-inch cake pan
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. Add 1 cups of buttermilk and stir. if mixture is too dry, and will not form a ball, add more buttermilk until it does.
Place dough on floured board and knead about 5 mins. Form into a round loaf and place in buttered pan. Make an X on top with a sharp knife.
Bake for 35-40 minutes until light brown. Loaf will sound hollow when lightly tapped.
One loaf serves about 4.
