2 cups WW flour (or half rye)
1 teaspoon soda
1 egg, beaten
1 Tablespoon honey
1 cup yogurt or buttermilk
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamon, or 1 Tablespoon caraway or anise seeds

Variations:
Add 1 cup currants or raisins to dry ingredients.

Directions:
Stir dry ingredients together. Beat honey and milk into beaten egg. Gradually add to dry ingredients. Bled with hands to work all flour in. If too dry, add a little buttermilk. If too wet, more flour. Knead dough 5 minutes, shape into flat, round loaf. Place on oiled cookie sheet or in pan with cornmeal on bottom. Bake at 375º for 25 -30 minutes.
