2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups hot water
cup butter
cup shortening
1 lb. seedless raisins
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp salt
1 cup nuts

3 cup flour
2 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except flour and soda in a large pot and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. Add the baking soda and mix well. When cooled add the sifted flour. Bake for 1 hour at 300-325 F. Makes a very large cake.
