% slices wholegrain bread
1 cup soya milk
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 Tlb maple syrup
2 Tlb ground flax
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cups finely ground walnuts (optional)
Oil to coat skillet

Directions:
Directions:

Place all ingredients except the bread, walnuts and oil in a shallow container and mix well. Place walnuts in a separate dish. Dip the slices of bread one by one in the batter and coat on either side. I let them soak about 20 to 30 seconds, Then dip in the walnuts. Heat a pan and coat with a thin layer of oil Place a slic of the french oast on the skillet and cook on each side until golden brown. Serve hot with fresh fruit or a drizzle of maple syrup.
