2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 c. cold water
1 c. coffee, boiled
1 c. shortening
1 c. raisins
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Boil all ingredients except flour, baking soda and nuts for 4 minutes. When mixture cools, add flour and baking soda. Mix well. Add nuts or fruit if desired. Bake 1 hour.
