2 cups white sugar
cup milk
cup butter ( or cup butter and cup margarine )
2 tsp vanilla


Mix and set aside:
2 cups flaked coconut
2 cups oatmeal (quick cooking but not instant)
5 -6 tbsp cocoa

Directions:
Slowly bring the first 3 ingredients to a boil( milk,butter,sugar). Let it boil for Two minutes stirring constantly. After the two minutes,remove from heat, add the vanilla and then add the oatmeal mixture and blend well. Drop by spoonful onto waxed paper. when cool remove macaroons from waxed paper. Recipe can make 3 dozen small macaroons.


Note: It is best to make these on a dry day as it takes much longer for the cookies to harden if made on a humid day. Make sure you boil mixture for the two minutes.
