2/3 cup vegetable oil or shortening
2/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 cups Gold Medal flour
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
12 oz. package Nestles chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Using a hand mixer, mix together the oil or shortening, butter, sugar, brown sugar and eggs.

Add baking soda and salt.

With a wooden spoon, add chopped nuts and chocolate chips.

Spoon cookie dough onto a cookie sheet.

Place cookie sheet in oven - on 2nd rack from the top shelf.

Bake 8-10 minutes
