½ cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cube bread and put in the bottom of a casserole dish or a deep 8X8 inch pan. Wash raisins and sprinkle over the bread. Beat eggs. Add sugar and mix well. Whisk in milk and pour over bread mixture. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
Bake at 350º F. for 45 minutes. Test by inserting a knife in the center. If it comes out clean, it is done. If it is milky, it is not done. * I add ½ tsp. vanilla to milk mixture
* To make a fancier dessert, place 2 TBSP. jam on top and add a 2 egg meringue and bake until brown.
