2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt ½ tsp. cream of tartar 2 tsp. sugar ½ c. flour ⅔ c. milk
Preheat oven to 450º
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening, until it become like course crumbs. Make a well in the center, pour in milk. Stir with fork until dough is touch. Knead 10-12 times on floured surface. Roll the dough until 1/2 in. thick; cuti out biscuits. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes
