French Apple Pie Recipe

6 tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
flour
3 T. water
3/4 cup butter, softened

Directions:
Directions:
Combine apples, 1 cup sugar, salt, cinnamon, 1/3 cup flour, and water. Mix well. Pour into pastry shell. combine remaining sugar and 1/2 cup flour. Cut in butter then crumble over top of pie. Cover with loose foil and bake at 425 for 40 minutes, last 15 minutes uncovered.
