c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp vanilla or other flavoring
2 c. flour
tsp baking soda
tsp baking powder
tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in sour cream. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir into sour cream mixture.
Chill at least 1 hour.
Drop rounded tsp full 2 inches apart on untreated cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 until delicately brown. Test with fingertip. Almost no fingertip will remain.
Frost with thin confectioners sugar, if desired.
