Ingredients:
2 c. sugar
⅔ c. unsalted butter
½ c. vanilla
2 eggs
5 ⅓ c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

10.8 oz. mini M&Ms

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter, shortening, sugar 2 tsp vanilla, and 2 eggs in a large bowl. Mix in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, sour cream and salt. Dough will feel soft and sticky, so chill the dough directly in the bowl until firm.
Roll dough onto a well-floured surface, then cut with a cookie cutter. Place cutouts on a parchment lined pan and bake at 350º for 8-9 minutes.
While cookies are cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing 1 stick of butter with 3 cups of powdered sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla and 3 tbsp of milk. Divide the frosting into 2 small bowls. Stir in black food coloring into 1 bowl and leave the second bowl uncolored.
Spread white frosting on cookie, then pipe on black line with loops and curves. Place m&ms on line to create Christmas lights

Personal Notes:
I chilled for one night. Dough was still extremely soft. Hard to work with but worth it!
Had to make more icing than called for.
