4 c. powdered sugar
c. butter, softened
c. shortening
c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
tsp. almond extract
food coloring (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, beat powdered sugar, butter, shortening, milk, vanilla, and almond extract at low speed until blended. At medium-high speed, beat until light and fluffy. If desired, beat in food color. Cover and refrigerate any leftover frosting.

Chocolate Buttercream: Sift together powdered sugar and ⅓ c. unsweetened cocoa powder. Frosting may need a few extra drops of water. Prepare as above.

Note: For a firmer frosting, beat in additional powdered sugar, 1 T. at a time.
