1 - 2 while chickens depending on how much you want to make.
1-5 - 2 litres of white sauce
1 loaf of french bread (made into bread crumbs)
2 onions, diced
2 tbsp mixed herbs
salt and pepper to taste
Butter to moisten the breadcrumbs (about half a lb)

Boil chicken until falling off bone. Keep stock for making soup.
Remove bones and skin from chicken. Break meat into pieces and put in casserole dish.
Make the white sauce (not too thick since you are mixing with chicken); mix the sauce with the chicken.

Make a stuffing:
Mix the fresh breadcrumbs with the diced onion, mixed herbs, salt and pepper and enough butter to moisten all the stuff. Top chicken with a thick layer of breadcrumb stuffing Cook at 350F until cooked through and topping is crunchy.
