6 c. Granny Smith or half Granny Smith half another good baking apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced.
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. water
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/3 c. butter

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Using a buttered baking dish, arrange sliced apples in rows slightly overlapping the preceding apple slice. Combine the water and lemon juice and sprinkle it over the apples. Combine the sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut the dry ingredients into the butter using a pastry tool or a fork until all ingredients are incorporated and crumbly. Sprinkle the crumble all over the apple slices.

Bake for 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Can be served at any temperature. Excellent with vanilla ice cream.

The aroma of the baking apples and cinnamon would literally make you drool! I don't know if there was ever leftovers. This is lick the dish good!
