Directions:
Oven 400º
Stir together in a large bowl, 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of flour. Mix in saucepan 2 sticks of butter, 4 Tbsp cocoa and 1 c water. Bring this mixture to a rapid boil. Pour this mixture over the flour/sugar mixture. Stir until well mixed. Add ½ cup of buttermilk*, 2 slightly beaten eggs, 1 tsp soda, 1 tsp vanilla. Mix well. Pour into a greased 11 x 16 inch pan that is ½ inch deep (I use a cookie sheet that has all four sides.)

Bake 20 minutes at 400º. Begin making icing about 5 minutes before cake is done.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
* You may substitute 1/2 c milk and 1 Tablespoon of vinegar for the buttermilk.
This is also known as Texas Sheet Cake.
