1 c real butter

⅔ c sugar

1 egg

1 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

2¼ c flour

1. Cream butter and sugar

2. Add egg

3. Add vanilla

4. Add salt

5. Add flour

6. Mix well, roll into balls, place on cookie sheet

7. Flatten each ball with a floured glass bottom, sprinkle with sugars

8. Bake at 400º for about 10 minutes. Watch carefully. Edges should be golden brown

This recipe comes from a friend of Mom's named Helen. It is so easy, as you don't have to keep rolling out dough, unless you want specific shapes. Everyone loves these. Frost them if you want and add extras.
