1 or 2 lbs Conecuh Sausage, cut into bite-sized pieces (use 1 lb if adding ham)
2 tbsp oil
1 pkg Collard Greens
1-2 cups Smoked Ham, if you have leftovers (Optional)
4 or 5 medium Turnips, cut into bite-sized pieces (Optional)
3 or 4 cans BlackEyed Peas, rinsed and drained
48 oz Chicken Broth
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Thyme
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/4 tsp Paprika
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder

Serve with cornbread or over rice.

Brown sausage pieces in a stockpot in oil. Remove from pan and set aside.

Add about 2 c of broth into the pan to deglaze. Add collards, turnips, and ham and cook over medium heat until the collards are wilted.

Add remaining ingredients and heat through.
