1 C shortening
1 C brown sugar
1 C white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
1 tsp baking power
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 C quick oats (oatmeal)
1 6-oz package chocolate chips
1 C chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour that was sifted with baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix in oats, chips, and nuts. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets about 2” apart. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
