2 c. sugar
1 tsp soda
1 c. buttermilk
1/8 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp light corn syrup
2 1/2 cups pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, soda and buttermilk, salt in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat to 210 or about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add butter, syrup and pecans; continue cooking until candy reaches 234(soft ball stage) or about 5 min more, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and beat with wooden spoon for 2 to 3 mins - just until mixture begins to thicken working rapidly. Drop tablespoonfuls onto lightly buttered wax paper - let cool - store in airtight container.
