1 lb. ground beef
1 envelope brown gravy mix or 3 T. brown gravy mix
Dash of salt and pepper
1 medium onion, diced
4 carrots, sliced
4 potatoes, sliced
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Cook ground beef and drain. Add onion and cook until tender. Add dry gravy mix, salt and pepper and carrots and potatoes, stir quickly then add water and stir. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer until vegetables are tender (about 45 minutes). Add peas the last 5 minutes. Stir in cheese (save a little to sprinkle on top) and turn into casserole dish.

Grandma Ball told me that you always "season the meat." So whenever I'm making a casserole or anything with meat, the seasonings go on the meat and are cooked before I add other ingredients.
