1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup hot water
1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons cocoa

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease one 8 x 8 inch pan.

Combine rolled oats, hot water and shortening. Set aside to cool. Add sugar and eggs.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add to wet ingredients and mix well. Spread into the prepared pan.

Bake 45 – 60 minutes.
