3 tbsp cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Combine 2 cups sugar, 1 cup milk, 2 tbsp light corn syrup, 3 tbsp cocoa. Add 1/4 tsp salt in medium size saucepan. Bring slowly to boil, stirring only until well mixed. Cook fudge over very low heat, without stirring, until a tsp of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball. Remove cooked fudge from heat. Add, but do not stir in, 2 tbsp butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Let fudge cool, undisturbed, until bottom of pan feels lukewarm. Beat and stir fudge until it is very thick. Stir in 3/4 cup chopped nuts and continue to beat until candy loses its gloss and is very hard to stir. Turn out at once into well buttered pan.

Personal Notes:
This is an old recipe from Mrs J H Anglin, Sr. She was a friend of Grandmother Bagwell's when they lived in Clayton, New Mexico, I think.
