2 cups flour
tsp baking soda
tsp salt
cup shortening (soft)
cup sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
2 oz. (2 squares) unsweetened chocolate melted and cool
1 cup Quaker oats

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add shortening, sugar, egg, water, vanilla and chocolate. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Beat in oats then chill dough for about 1 hour.
Roll out on lightly flouted board or canvas to ⅛ inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven at 350 F for 10-12 minutes. Cool and decorate.
