3 C. All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Cream of Tartar
½ tsp Baking Soda
¼ tsp Salt
1¼ C. Butter or Margarine
1 C. Sugar
3 Tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
⅓ C. Butter or Margarine
¼ C. Milk
1½ tsp Vanilla
¼ - ½ tsp orange, mint or almond flavoring (optional)
2½ C. Powdered Sugar, sifted
In a large bowl, stir together the flour, tarter, soda and salt, set aside.
In mixing bowl, beat the butter or margarine for 30 seconds.
Add the sugar and beat till fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, milk, and vanilla till well-combined.
Add the dry ingredients and beat till just mixed.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in 375º oven for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden.
Remove to wire rack; cool.
Mix up the frosting and frost cooked cookies.
