cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cup sifted flout
tsp baking soda
tsp salt
tsp cinnamon
tsp cloves
cup applesauce
cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar and stir in egg. Sift together dry ingredients, mix in nuts. Add in thirds to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce. Form dough into rolls and wrap in waxed paper then chill in the refrigerator. When ready, slice thin and bake on a greased baking sheet at 375 F for 10 to 15 minutes.
