okra cut into equal slices preferably " thick
yellow cornmeal mix
oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and cut okra (even slices) and salt.
Put grease in skillet to get hot
Dip okra in bowl of white cornmeal. Sift with fingers so extra meal doesn't go into oil.
Test the oil by putting one or two pieces of okra in to see if oil is ready.
Using a slotted spatula or spoon turn okra to make sure all sides are brown and done,
Do not overcook
Lift okra out of skillet with slotted spoon to make sure no extra grease is on your platter.

Cut up enough okra you know will be needed for your dinner then add some extra because you know you will be "tasting" as you cook!
