5 Cups Flour
1½ Cups butter flavor Crisco (shortening)
1 Egg, beaten
1½ Cups white Sugar
½ Cup Sour Cream
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Nutmeg
½ tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and shortening together ( use a large bowl) with a pastry cutter. In a separate bowl, mix well the egg, sugar, sour cream, baking soda, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Add the sugar and sour cream mixture to the flour and shortening. Mix thoroughly, this makes a nice soft dough that can be rolled outright away, or can be chilled until later.
Bake cookies at 375º for 8 -10 minutes.This verys depending on size and thickness of cookies. They should just be slightly brown around the edges.
This makes about 10 dozen, depending on the size of cookie cutter.
They freeze well.
