CRUST:
2 c. flour
1 tbsp salt
1 c. crisco
¼ c. cold water


FILLING:
3 lbs hard juicy (McIntosh) apples, peeled and sliced.
1 c. sugar
2 tsp cinnamon (or as much as it takes to cover apples or to your taste)
2 pinches of cloves
⅛ lb of butter in chunks

CRUST:
Mix crust ingredients - makes two crusts

FILLING:
Peel and slice apples into crust.
Pour over apples: sugar, cinnamon, cloves and butter chunks.
Put top crust o, brush with milk and then sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 425º for 15 minutes, then 350 for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
