1 c Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c butter
1/4 c shortening
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 c fine chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. in a small bowl, place 1/4 c chocolate chips. Zap on high 20 to 30 seconds. set aside to cool.
In a large bowl, combine butter, shortening, sugar, reserved melted chocolate, egg yolk and vanilla, Blend Well.
Stir in flour and salt.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls. With a fork, slightly beat the egg white. Dip each ball into egg white and roll in chopped nuts.
Place balls on un-greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
Press center of each ball with your thumb to make an indentation.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set.
Remove from oven; immediately place 3 chocolate chips in the indent in each cookie.
Place the cookies on a cooling rack.
Take a tooth pick and swirl the chocolate chips to look like a Thumb Print.
Let cool completely. Makes 2 1/2 dozen
