Notes: Gourmet Club - Russian Dinner, February 12, 1977
According to the notes that accompanied the recipe: Part of the popularity of vodka in the United States stems, I am sure, from the fact that many people like the effect of liquor rather than the flavor. Vodka, having no distinctive taste, is an ideal drink for people who think orange juice tastes better than scotch. While the Bloody Mary and the Screwdriver are non-Russian in origin, flavored vodka does have a place in authentic Russian drinking. If you make all four of the suggested flavored vodkas, you will have 2 quarts of potent beverage. I guarantee it will be finished either during cocktail time or by the lucky people who get to do the dishes!
