8 onions chopped
8 green peppers
1 cup butter
16 cups strained cooked tomatoes
4 qts cooked dried limas - well drained
4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
8 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 lbs. grated american cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions and green pepper in butter. Add tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes. Add limas, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and cook 20 minutes longer. Grease large casserole dish. Place bean mixture and cheese in alternate layers in casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Makes 20-25 servings.

I can't imagine needing to make lima beans for 20-25 people, but I found this recipe among Nana's collection and had to share it as an example of the breadth of her cooking. If you needed to feed a large crowd, Nana was the one to call!
