1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg, separated
2 cups unbleached flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. pure almond extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl mix together butter and sugar. Mix in egg yolk, flour, vanilla and almond extract. Spread dough in a 15x10x1-inch jelly roll pan. Brush the top with unbeaten egg white. Sprinkle nuts and chips on top. Bake in a pre-heated 325 degree oven for 30 minutes. Let cool in pan then cut into bars.
