"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Personal Notes:
The picture is of our grandparents wedding, Mary and Janos (John) Johanyak. At one point they used the name Johnson because of their Hungarian heritage.

This is a large recipe that we are sure our parents got from them. We used to dip our bread in the “grease” in the skillet...yummmm!

This was always a special treat for our family when we visited Barberton...it was always hot and waiting for us (and so was grandma at the end of the driveway!) after our drive from Paducah, Hopkinsville or Versailles Kentucky. Don fell in love with it, when we were dating, at the Holy Trinity church picnic!
