2 c butter
2 c granulated sugar
2 c brown sugar
4 eggs
2 T vanilla
4 c flour
5 c blended oatmeal (measure then blend in blender to a fine powder)
1 t salt
2 t baking powder
2 t baking soda
24 oz mini chips
8 oz grated Hershey bar (optional)
3 c chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour, oatmeal, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Add chips, candy bar and nuts. Scoop onto baking sheets using a medium cookie scoop. Bake 6 - 18 minutes at 375º.

Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.

Who doesn't know the story of the $250 Neiman Marcus cookie recipe? As always, Irma added her own modifications. Her recipe card notes: "I 1/2 this recipe--omit Hershey bar and nuts. Substitute 8 oz mini chips for chips. Add 1/3 c flour and 1/3 c oatmeal."

This recipe is copied as she wrote it. I'm puzzled by the "6 - 18 minute" cooking time. I would suggest checking at about 8 minutes then adding time if needed.
