2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups Water
2 Cups Loosely Packed Chopped Fresh Mint
!/2 to 1 Oz Bourbon
1/2 to 3/4 Cup Crushed Ice

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, water and mint into a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook until sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally. Take off heat and let cool to room temperature.

Strain syrup through a mesh strainer lined with cheese cloth or a coffee filter. Discard mint.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

To serve put ice in a julep cup or rocks glass. Pour 1/4 syrup and bourbon in the glass; stir until the mixture is well chilled. Garnish with a mint sprig.
