Ingredients:	Ingredients: 3¼ c flour 1 tsp soda ½ salt ½ c shortening or soft butter 1 c sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla ½ c sour cream

Directions:	Directions: Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Blend together sugar, shortening or butter, egg and vanilla for 2 minutes. Add sour cream. Add flour mixture. Beat with blender until well blended. Roll out on lightly floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Cut in round shapes and sprinkle with sugar. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 425º.

Personal Notes:	Personal Notes: Cousin Jane Wakeland provided recipe for cookbook. Jane remembers-As kids my brother and I were closest to your dad (Jerry) and Verla. I am Grandma Ella’s granddaughter. This is Grandmothers Sugar Cookie recipe. She always kept these cookies for us grandkids in a cow cookie jar that my brother gave her.
