1 German chocolate cake mix plus ingredients to make cake

1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
½ cup butter (1 stick)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ⅓ cups flake coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and bake cake mix according to directions in two 9 inch round pans.

While cakes are baking, make the coconut pecan frosting. Combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened (about 12 minutes). Remove from heat and add coconut and chopped pecans. Let cool until thick enough to spread.

Spread frosting on top of first layer of cake. Top with second cake and spread remaining frosting on top and side.
