Put in saucepan:
1 1/2 cups Sugar
6 tablespoons Dark Cocoa Powder
1/2 cup Water

Later you will need butter and vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine above ingredients in a medium saucepan, stir well and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil, turn to low heat and let it cook for a few minutes until it reaches the syrup stage.
2. Remove from heat and beat in one tablespoon butter and one teaspoon vanilla.
3. Let cool for 2 or 3 minutes then pour over your cake.

Mom often made this icing for her light cake. We kids all loved the chocolate. We didn't get a lot of chocolate in the 1950's when we were still quite young.
