1/3 cup shortening
3 tsp sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c water (1 boiling 1 1/2 cool)
3 cups flour
1 pkg dry yeast


Glaze....
1 box powdered sugar
water

Add powdered sugar & enough water to make slightly runny. Add 1/2 tsp Watkins Vanilla.

Cream shortening & sugar . Beat eggs & cream in. 1 cup boiling hot water, then 1/2 cup cooled water. Sprinkle in yeast & fold. Gradually add flour & 1 cup cold water. Refrigerate 2 hours. Roll out and cut on floured table and let rise. Then cook in hot grease; turning once. Drop in glaze. Place on wax paper or pan with wax paper.
