Ingredients:  
1 cup sifted all purpose flour plus 2 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
6 tablespoons brown sugar
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 egg, well beaten
Few drops of hot water
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1- 6 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and sift flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Beat shortening until creamy. Add the two sugars gradually. Add mixture to egg mixture. Stir in water. Add nuts, chocolate and vanilla. Chill thoroughly. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease sheet. Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
